Newcastle United travel to Villa Park on Saturday as they look to make it two wins on the bounce in their FA Cup fourth-round clash against Aston Villa.

Newcastle manager Eddie Howe’s men are aiming to build momentum in their season and keep their hopes of domestic silverware alive.

‘The Villans’ head into this tie sitting comfortably in third place in the Premier League.

The Europa League side returned to winning ways in midweek with a 1-0 home victory over Brighton & Hove Albion, courtesy of a Jack Hinshelwood own goal.

Newcastle United secured a brilliant 2-1 away victory at Tottenham Hotspur on Tuesday night, where new boy Jacob Ramsey picked up his first goal for the club.

Newcastle faced Aston Villa  just three weeks ago in the ‘Toon’ and will be seeking revenge after suffering a 2-0 defeat.

The Magpies currently sit 10th in the top flight.

Aston Villa head into the weekend in better form than their opponents, with just one loss in their last six matches (W4 D1 L1).

In contrast, Newcastle have managed only one win in their last six outings (W1 D1 L4).

Howe got revenge on his former side Bournemouth AFC in the fourth round after a nervy penalty shootout following a thrilling 3-3 draw at St James’ Park.

A major team selection concern for Howe is the late substitution of club captain Bruno Guimarães in Tuesday’s win.

The Brazilian, who recently returned from an ankle injury, appeared to suffer a hamstring issue.

‘The Geordies’ have never won a match in any competition without him in the side (6D 6L).

Howe will also remain without 19-year-old Lewis Miley following his injury setback, as well as Tino Livramento, who is currently receiving treatment abroad for a knee injury.

This could be a potential big statement from Howe’s side if they leave Birmingham with a win.
